About
Corex DX Syrup from Pfizer Ltd combines Chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, with Dextromethorphan, a cough suppressant. It is used to ease a dry, irritating cough with allergic or cold-like symptoms.
Uses
- Dry, non-productive cough
- Cough with throat irritation
- Cough with sneezing or runny nose
How it works
Dextromethorphan quietens the cough reflex by acting on the brain's cough centre, while Chlorpheniramine blocks histamine to settle a runny nose, sneezing and itchy throat. Together they calm the cough and its triggers.
How to take
Shake the bottle and measure the dose with the cap or a spoon as prescribed by your doctor. Use only for as long as advised.

Precautions
It can cause sleepiness, so avoid driving or using machines after a dose. Do not mix with alcohol or other sedatives. Not meant for coughs with thick mucus unless your doctor advises.
