Relent

Relent from Dr Reddy's is a combination tablet of cetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine, and ambroxol, a mucolytic that thins phlegm. It is commonly used during cold or allergy spells when a runny nose and a chesty cough show up together.

• Allergic rhinitis with productive cough
• Common cold with thick mucus
• Sneezing, watery eyes, and chest congestion

Cetirizine blocks histamine, the chemical your body releases during allergies, so sneezing and itching ease up. Ambroxol loosens sticky mucus in the airways so coughing it out becomes easier and less tiring.

Swallow whole with a glass of water as prescribed by your doctor. Drink plenty of fluids during the day to help mucus clear more easily.

• Occasional dizziness

Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or stomach ulcer concerns, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
