Roko

Roko from Cipla is a tablet containing Loperamide, a medicine that slows down an over-active gut. Doctors and pharmacists often suggest it for short-term relief of sudden diarrhoea in adults.

Loperamide acts on opioid receptors in the gut wall to slow the movement of the intestines. This gives the bowel more time to absorb water, so stools become firmer and less frequent.

Swallow with water as prescribed by your doctor. Drink plenty of fluids and oral rehydration solution along with it so you do not become dehydrated. Stop and consult a doctor if symptoms last more than 2 days.

Avoid in children, in bloody diarrhoea, and in suspected food poisoning with high fever. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems. Do not use beyond the advised duration.
