Mesacol Suppository 500 mg from Sun Pharma contains Mesalamine, an aminosalicylate that acts locally in the lower bowel. The suppository form is useful when the inflammation is mainly in the rectum.

Mesalamine, also known as 5-aminosalicylic acid, works on the bowel lining to reduce inflammation. Delivering it as a suppository allows the medicine to act directly where the inflammation is most active.

Use as prescribed by your doctor. Insert the suppository into the rectum, ideally after passing stool, and try to remain lying down for a short while.
