Emty Syrup

Emty Syrup from Alkem contains Lactulose, a gentle laxative used to relieve constipation. It is also given in certain liver conditions to reduce harmful substances in the blood.

• Relieves long-standing constipation
• Softens hard stools
• Helps in hepatic encephalopathy (a liver-related brain condition)

Lactulose is a sugar that is not absorbed in the gut. It draws water into the bowel, making the stool soft and easier to pass. In liver disease, it also helps trap ammonia in the gut so it leaves the body with the stool.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with water, juice or milk. You may need 1–2 days of regular use before bowel motions become smooth.

Drink plenty of water through the day. Tell the doctor if you have diabetes, as the syrup contains sugars. Inform about galactose intolerance or bowel blockage before starting.

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed. Do not refrigerate. Keep out of reach of children.
