About
Telvas H 40/12.5 from Aristo is a combination blood pressure tablet that brings together Telmisartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. It is one of the most commonly used fixed-dose pairs for hypertension.

How it works
Telmisartan relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, the hormone that constricts them. Hydrochlorothiazide makes the kidneys pass out extra salt and water, lowering the volume in circulation. The two together lower BP more than either one alone.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually in the morning with water. Stay well hydrated and rise slowly from bed in the first few days.
Side effects
- Frequent urination at the start
- Dizziness or light-headedness
- Muscle cramps
- Tiredness
- Low potassium or sodium on tests
Precautions
Not recommended in pregnancy. Tell the doctor about kidney, liver, gout or diabetes problems. Avoid excess alcohol. Get electrolyte and kidney tests as advised.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, in the original strip. Keep out of reach of children.
