About

Ontavom Drop from Elder contains Ondansetron, a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. The drop form is handy for infants and small children who vomit often.

Uses

  • Vomiting from stomach infections in children
  • Nausea from certain medicines
  • Vomiting from motion sickness when advised

How it works

Ondansetron blocks 5-HT3 receptors in the gut and the brain's vomit centre. It stops serotonin from setting off the vomit reflex, settling the child's nausea.

How to take

Give as prescribed by your doctor using the dropper provided. It can be given with or without food. Wait a short while if the child vomits soon after a dose and call your doctor for advice.

Precautions
