About
Tripride-1 by Microlab is an oral anti-diabetic tablet that combines three medicines — glimepiride, metformin, and pioglitazone — to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Uses
- Manages type 2 diabetes when single or dual therapy is not enough
- Helps keep blood glucose within target range
How it works
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that prompts the pancreas to release more insulin. Metformin is a biguanide that reduces sugar production in the liver and improves how the body uses insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione that makes muscle and fat cells more sensitive to insulin.
How to take
Take with a meal, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip meals while on this medicine.
Side effects
- Low blood sugar (sweating, shakiness, hunger)
- Mild stomach upset, nausea, or metallic taste
- Weight gain or mild fluid retention
Precautions
Share your full history with your doctor, especially heart, liver, kidney, or bladder issues. Keep a sugar source handy in case of hypoglycaemia. Limit alcohol. Get periodic blood and liver tests as advised.
