Huminsulin R 100iu 10ml vial

Huminsulin R from Eli Lilly is regular (soluble) human insulin in a 100 IU/ml vial. It is a short-acting clear insulin used to bring down high blood sugar quickly around meal times for people with diabetes.

• Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus
• Mealtime blood sugar control
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (in hospital settings)

This is the same human insulin your pancreas would make. After injection it starts working in about 30 minutes, peaks around 2–4 hours and helps your cells take in glucose from food so blood sugar comes down.

Inject under the skin as prescribed by your doctor, usually 30 minutes before a meal. The solution should be crystal clear — do not use if cloudy. Rotate injection sites to keep skin healthy.

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)

• Itching or rash
• Temporary blurring of vision

Never miss a meal after injecting. Inform your doctor about kidney, liver, thyroid disease, pregnancy or other medicines. Always carry sugar tablets or sweets for sudden lows.

Keep unopened vials in the fridge at 2–8°C. Once in use, may be stored below 25°C for up to 28 days. Do not freeze; protect from direct sunlight.
