Huminsulin R cartridge

Huminsulin R cartridge by Eli Lilly contains regular (soluble) human insulin for use with a reusable insulin pen. It is a clear, short-acting insulin used to control blood sugar at meal times for people with diabetes.

This is the same insulin made by a healthy pancreas. After injection it starts acting in roughly 30 minutes, peaks at 2–4 hours and helps cells absorb glucose from your meal so blood sugar settles.

Load cartridge into a compatible insulin pen and inject under the skin as prescribed by your doctor, usually 30 minutes before a meal. The solution should be clear — discard if cloudy. Use a fresh needle each time.

Never skip a meal after injecting. Tell your doctor about liver, kidney or thyroid disease, pregnancy or other medicines. Do not share pens. Always carry quick sugar.

Unopened cartridges in the fridge at 2–8°C. In-use cartridges may stay at room temperature below 25°C for up to 28 days. Do not freeze; protect from sunlight.
