Drotin Injection contains Drotaverine, a smooth-muscle relaxant of the antispasmodic class. It is given by a healthcare professional when fast relief from severe muscle spasm pain is needed.

Drotaverine relaxes the smooth muscle lining of the gut, urinary tract and uterus by acting on enzymes inside the muscle cells, which eases painful spasms.

This injection is given by a doctor or nurse, as prescribed by your doctor.

• Dizziness or low blood pressure
• Nausea
• Headache
• Mild injection-site discomfort

Tell your doctor about heart, liver or kidney problems and any allergies. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if your doctor advises it. Rest for a short while after the injection if you feel light-headed.
