Neksium 40

Neksium 40 contains Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that strongly reduces stomach acid. It is widely prescribed for acidity-related stomach and food-pipe problems.

• Acid reflux and heartburn
• Gastric and duodenal ulcers
• Erosive oesophagitis
• Part of treatment for H. pylori infection

Esomeprazole blocks the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining. With less acid, the inflamed food pipe and ulcers get time to heal and burning symptoms ease.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually before food in the morning. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it.

• Headache
• Stomach pain or gas
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Nausea

Tell your doctor about liver disease, low magnesium, osteoporosis, or long-term use of other medicines. Long-term use may affect vitamin B12 and bone health. Do not self-medicate beyond the advised duration.

Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
