Zomelis Met 50/500 from Eris Lifesciences combines Vildagliptin with Metformin in a lower-dose Metformin strength. It is prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes who need balanced two-drug therapy.

Vildagliptin helps the body release more insulin and reduce extra sugar made by the liver after meals. Metformin lowers liver sugar production and improves how cells respond to insulin, giving more even blood sugar through the day.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or just after meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day.

• Nausea or loose stools

• Low blood sugar with other diabetes drugs

Not for severe kidney disease or diabetic ketoacidosis. Tell the doctor about liver, heart or pancreas problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop temporarily before scans with contrast dye if advised.

Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the strip in its original pack and out of reach of children.
