Cremalax from Abbott contains bisacodyl, a well-known stimulant laxative. It is used for short-term relief of constipation and for bowel preparation.

Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative. It acts on the muscles of the large bowel to gently push the contents along while also bringing in water to soften the stool.

Swallow the tablet whole with water, usually at bedtime, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush, chew or take with milk or antacids within an hour.

• Stomach cramps
• Loose stools or diarrhoea
• Mild nausea
• Loss of body salts with long use

Not for long-term daily use. Avoid in severe stomach pain, suspected bowel blockage, or in young children unless advised. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original pack, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
