Creon Capsules from Abbott contain Pancreatin, a mix of digestive enzymes (Lipase, Amylase, Protease). They help people whose pancreas does not make enough enzymes, such as those with chronic pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis or after pancreatic surgery.

The capsule holds tiny coated beads that release pancreatic enzymes in the small intestine. These enzymes break down fats, starches and proteins from food so the body can absorb nutrients properly.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, with every meal and snack. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not chew or crush the beads. If swallowing is difficult, the capsule may be opened and the beads sprinkled on soft, slightly acidic food.

Tell the doctor if you are allergic to pork products, as the enzymes are pork-derived. Inform the doctor about gout, kidney disease or bowel problems. Drink plenty of water during the day.
