Redotil from Dr. Reddy's contains Racecadotril. Doctors prescribe it as an add-on treatment for sudden, watery diarrhoea in adults and children.

• Acute watery diarrhoea
• Travel-related loose motions
• Diarrhoea along with oral rehydration solution

Racecadotril blocks an enzyme called enkephalinase in the gut. This reduces the extra water and salts the bowel releases during diarrhoea, without slowing down normal gut movement.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule with water, ideally before meals. Continue oral rehydration fluids alongside to replace lost salts and water.

• Drowsiness in some people

Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have ever had a serious skin reaction to medicines. Do not use for long-term or chronic diarrhoea without medical advice.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep in the strip and out of reach of children.
