Prazopress XL 2.5 from Sun Pharma is an extended-release tablet of prazosin, an alpha-1 blocker. It is commonly used in high blood pressure and in men with an enlarged prostate, providing steadier blood levels through a slow-release design.

Prazosin blocks alpha-1 receptors in blood vessels and in the smooth muscle of the bladder neck and prostate. The result is relaxed vessels with lower pressure and easier urine flow with less straining.

Take one tablet once a day with water, as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow it whole without crushing or chewing, and try to keep the same time each day.

• Light-headedness or dizziness when standing
• Headache or feeling tired
• Blocked nose or palpitations
• First-dose fainting in some people

Tell your doctor about any heart, kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or upcoming eye surgery. Take care with alcohol and avoid driving until you know how the medicine affects you.
