Minipress XL 5 30 tab

Minipress XL from Pfizer contains prazosin, an alpha-blocker first developed for high blood pressure. The XL version is an extended-release tablet designed to release the medicine gradually through the day.

• Used to lower high blood pressure
• Helps relieve urinary symptoms linked to an enlarged prostate
• Sometimes used for blood-flow problems in fingers and toes

Prazosin blocks alpha-1 receptors on blood vessel walls. This allows the vessels to relax and widen, which lowers blood pressure. The same action in the prostate and bladder neck helps urine flow more easily.

Swallow the tablet whole with water as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush or chew an extended-release tablet.

• Dizziness, especially on standing
• Headache
• Tiredness
• Stuffy nose
• A fainting episode is possible with the first dose

Rise slowly from sitting or lying down, particularly when starting treatment. Tell your doctor about heart problems, low blood pressure or planned eye surgery.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from light, and keep out of reach of children.
