Matiz SR 10 cap

Matiz SR from Tasmed contains Metformin in a sustained-release form. It belongs to the biguanide group of anti-diabetic medicines and is used to help control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes.

Metformin lowers the amount of sugar made by the liver and helps the body use insulin more effectively, so glucose moves from the blood into the cells. The sustained-release form releases the medicine slowly through the day.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or just after a meal. Swallow the capsule whole with water and do not crush or chew it.

• Loose motions, especially at the start
• Metallic taste in the mouth
• Loss of appetite

Tell your doctor about kidney, liver or heart problems and any planned scans using contrast dye. Avoid heavy alcohol use. Inform your doctor if you fall sick with severe vomiting, dehydration or infection.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep the strip in its pack and out of reach of children.
