About
Esomeza-IT from Infigen combines esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, with sustained-release itopride, a prokinetic, for acid reflux that comes with bloating or slow digestion.
Uses
- Acid reflux and GERD
- Functional dyspepsia
- Bloating, fullness and nausea
How it works
Esomeprazole reduces stomach acid so the lining of the food pipe can settle. The slow-release itopride helps the stomach contract and empty more efficiently, easing fullness and reflux symptoms.
How to take
Swallow whole with water, usually 30 to 60 minutes before a meal, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush or chew the capsule.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhoea or constipation
- Stomach pain
- Dry mouth
- Mild dizziness
Precautions
Tell your doctor about heart rhythm issues, prolactin-related problems, liver or kidney disease, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Long-term use should be reviewed. Avoid combining with other medicines that affect heart rhythm without advice.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, in the original strip, out of children's reach.
