Phenosulf Eyedrop 10 ml

Phenosulf eye drops from Synthopharma contain Sodium Sulfacetamide, a sulfonamide antibiotic used on the surface of the eye. It is a long-established choice for treating bacterial infections that cause redness, discharge and irritation.

• Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)
• Other surface eye infections as advised by your doctor
• Adjunct in some eyelid infections

Sodium Sulfacetamide stops bacteria from making folic acid, a nutrient they need to grow and multiply. Without it, the infection cannot spread and the body's own defences can clear it more easily.

Use as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands first, tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to make a pocket, then place the drop without touching the dropper to your eye. Close your eye for a moment afterwards.

• Brief stinging or burning on instillation
• Temporary blurred vision
• Mild irritation or itching
• Watery eyes

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to sulfa medicines. Do not share the bottle with anyone else. Remove contact lenses before use and wait as advised before putting them back in. Discard the bottle after the time your doctor recommends, even if some liquid remains.

Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed and out of reach of children.
