About
Telma AM 80 from Glenmark combines the higher strength of Telmisartan (ARB) with Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker). It is used when stronger control is needed than the standard combination provides.
Uses
- Moderate to severe high blood pressure
- Hypertension with chest pain (angina)
- Reducing long-term risk of heart attack and stroke
- Maintenance therapy for resistant hypertension
How it works
Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II to keep blood vessels relaxed. Amlodipine reduces calcium flow into vessel muscle, widening arteries further. The result is lower pressure and easier blood flow to the heart.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor with water, at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Ankle swelling
- Flushing
- Dizziness, especially on standing
- Headache
Precautions
Avoid in pregnancy. Tell your doctor about kidney or liver disease, severe heart problems, or other blood pressure drugs. Get up slowly to avoid feeling faint.
