Econorm from Dr Reddy's contains Saccharomyces boulardii, a probiotic yeast used to support gut health during episodes of diarrhoea. Each strip provides 6 tablets of 250 mg for convenient short-course use.

• Acute infectious diarrhoea in adults and children
• Antibiotic-associated diarrhoea
• Traveller's diarrhoea and IBS-related loose motions

Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic yeast that transiently colonises the gut. It helps restore healthy intestinal flora, neutralises certain bacterial toxins and supports the gut lining, which together reduce the frequency and duration of loose stools.

Take by mouth with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. The tablet can be swallowed with water or dissolved as advised. Maintain good fluid and electrolyte intake during diarrhoea.

• Mild bloating or gas
• Constipation in a few people
• Thirst or rare allergic reaction

Avoid in people with central venous catheters, severe immunosuppression or known yeast allergy unless specifically advised. Take at least 2 hours apart from antifungal medicines. Consult your doctor if diarrhoea persists beyond 2 days or there is blood in stool.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
