About
Dapanorm from Alkem Laboratories contains dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor used to help adults with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar.
Uses
- Helps lower blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
- May be used as add-on therapy with other diabetes medicines
How it works
Dapagliflozin blocks SGLT2 in the kidneys, helping the body flush extra sugar out through urine rather than reabsorbing it into the blood.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Urinary tract or genital infections
- Increased urination
- Mild dehydration
- Dizziness or back pain
Precautions
Inform your doctor about kidney issues, low blood pressure, or recurrent infections. Drink plenty of fluids and maintain hygiene. Not advised in pregnancy unless prescribed.
