Medrol 8 14 tab

Medrol 8 from Pfizer contains methylprednisolone in a mid-range strength. This corticosteroid is used to settle inflammation and overactive immune responses across a range of conditions.

• Allergic conditions including severe skin allergies
• Rheumatoid and other inflammatory arthritis
• Asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease flares
• Autoimmune conditions such as lupus
• Certain skin, eye and kidney inflammations

Methylprednisolone behaves like the cortisol that the adrenal glands make. It quiets the immune system and lowers production of chemicals that cause swelling and pain, helping inflamed tissues recover.

Take the tablet with food and water exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Continue for the full course and do not stop suddenly as the dose is usually tapered.

• Indigestion or heartburn
• Mood swings or sleep changes
• Weight gain and water retention
• Raised blood sugar and blood pressure
• Greater risk of infections

Share your full medical history with your doctor, especially diabetes, infections, ulcers, glaucoma or recent vaccinations. Regular review is needed for long courses and stopping abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original strip, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
