Albeproex 500 ER 10 tabs

Albeproex 500 ER contains Divalproex Sodium 500 mg in an extended-release form. It is a mood stabiliser and anti-seizure medicine that releases slowly through the day, giving steady blood levels.

• Epilepsy (various seizure types)
• Bipolar disorder — manic episodes
• Migraine prevention

Divalproex boosts a calming brain chemical called GABA and quietens over-excited nerve signals. This steadier electrical activity reduces seizures, smoothens mood swings and prevents migraine attacks.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water — do not crush or chew the ER tablet. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy should discuss alternatives — this medicine can harm the baby. Inform your doctor about liver disease, pancreatitis or blood disorders. Avoid alcohol. Do not stop suddenly as seizures may return.
