Defter 6 from UHL contains Deflazacort, a corticosteroid medicine. Doctors prescribe it for conditions where the body's immune system needs to be calmed down or where strong anti-inflammatory action is required.

• Rheumatoid and juvenile arthritis
• Severe allergies and asthma flare-ups
• Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
• Nephrotic syndrome in children
• Muscular dystrophy

Deflazacort is a glucocorticoid that reduces the chemicals in the body that cause swelling, redness and allergic reactions. It also suppresses the overactive immune response that damages tissues.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with or just after food to protect the stomach. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

• Higher blood sugar levels
• Stomach discomfort
• Easy bruising of skin

Tell the doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, ulcers or tuberculosis. Long-term use can weaken bones and lower immunity. Avoid contact with people having chickenpox or measles if you have not had them before.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
