Veltam 0.4 by Intas Pharmaceuticals contains Tamsulosin, an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker. It is widely used to ease urinary symptoms in men with an enlarged prostate.

• Difficulty in starting urination
• Weak urinary stream and frequent night-time urination
• Symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia

Tamsulosin selectively relaxes the smooth muscles in the prostate gland and the bladder neck by blocking alpha-1A receptors. This eases the pressure on the urethra and allows urine to flow more freely.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually after the same meal each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water and avoid crushing it.

• Dizziness or light-headedness, especially when standing up
• Headache
• Nasal congestion
• Abnormal ejaculation

May cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, particularly with the first dose. Mention any planned cataract surgery, as floppy iris syndrome can occur. Discuss other medicines, liver problems, and low blood pressure with your doctor.

Store in a cool, dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
