Tamsugard

Tamsugard from Leeford contains tamsulosin, an alpha-1 blocker used to ease urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Supplied as a strip of 15 tablets.

• Urinary symptoms of enlarged prostate (BPH)
• Difficulty starting urination or weak stream
• Frequent or urgent night-time urination

Tamsulosin relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier for urine to flow and reducing the feeling of incomplete emptying.

Swallow whole with water about 30 minutes after the same meal each day, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Dizziness, especially when standing up
• Headache or stuffy nose
• Reduced semen volume on ejaculation
• Rare fainting on the first dose

Rise slowly from sitting or lying down to avoid dizziness. Tell your doctor before any eye surgery, as tamsulosin can affect the iris. Share other medicines you take.

Store below 25°C in the original strip, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
