About
Telvilite CH 80 from Leeford is a combination BP tablet with Telmisartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker, and Chlorthalidone, a long-acting thiazide-like diuretic. It is used when a single medicine is not enough to keep blood pressure in control.

How it works
Telmisartan keeps the blood vessels relaxed by blocking angiotensin II, the hormone that constricts them. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing blood volume. Together they bring BP down through two routes.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually in the morning with water so the diuretic effect does not disturb sleep. Drink enough fluids during the day.
Side effects
- Increased urination early on
- Dizziness on standing
- Tiredness
- Muscle cramps
- Low potassium or sodium on tests
Precautions
Not recommended in pregnancy. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes or low electrolytes. Periodic blood tests are advised.
