Gluconorm G1 Forte

Gluconorm G1 Forte from Lupin is a higher-strength diabetes tablet that combines glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) with a stronger dose of metformin (a biguanide). The Forte version is generally used when more help with blood sugar is needed in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Glimepiride prompts the pancreas to release extra insulin, and metformin works in the background by improving how your body uses insulin and cutting down the glucose released by the liver, so sugar levels stay steadier through the day.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a meal to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water without crushing or chewing.

Flag any kidney, liver or heart conditions, and any history of lactic acidosis, to your doctor. Limit alcohol while on this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should check with their doctor before continuing.
