Predniwel 4

Predniwel 4 from Leeford is a low-strength tablet of methylprednisolone, a corticosteroid. It is generally used for mild to moderate inflammatory or allergic conditions, or as part of a tapering dose.

• Joint and skin inflammation

Methylprednisolone is a glucocorticoid that dampens the immune response and reduces inflammation. It limits the chemical signals that drive swelling, pain and irritation in many parts of the body.

Take the tablet with water, preferably with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you have been on it for more than a short course, do not stop suddenly; the dose is usually lowered step by step.

• Trouble sleeping or mood changes
• Higher blood sugar or pressure in some people
• Increased risk of infections

Mention diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, ulcers, glaucoma or bone thinning to your doctor. Avoid live vaccines during treatment and tell other doctors and dentists you are on a steroid.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original strip, away from heat, light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
