How it works
Metoprolol slows the heart and reduces its workload through beta-1 blockade. Ramipril blocks the formation of a hormone that tightens blood vessels, so they relax and widen. Together they ease the heart's load and lower blood pressure.
How to take
Swallow the tablet with water, as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Precautions
Tell your doctor about kidney disease, asthma, diabetes, or pregnancy plans — ACE inhibitors are not safe in pregnancy. Periodic blood tests check kidney and potassium levels.
