About
Glidum MF from Knoll combines Glimepiride with an extended-release form of Metformin, used as part of diabetes care to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels through the day.
Uses
- Helps manage type 2 diabetes
- Supports steady blood sugar levels
- Used when single therapy isn't enough
How it works
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that prompts the pancreas to release more insulin, while extended-release Metformin (a biguanide) reduces sugar production in the liver and improves how your body uses insulin.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or just after a meal. Swallow whole with water; do not crush the tablet.
Side effects
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Metallic taste or mild weight change
Precautions
Keep regular sugar checks and carry a quick sugar source. Tell your doctor about kidney, liver, or heart issues. Avoid heavy alcohol use. Inform your doctor before any scan with contrast dye.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of children's reach.
