Product information
About
Ondero DM 500 from Lupin packs three diabetes medicines into one sustained-release tablet: dapagliflozin 10 mg, linagliptin 5 mg and metformin 500 mg. It is prescribed for type 2 diabetes when a single medicine is not enough to keep blood sugar in range.
Uses
- Used to control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes
- Used when diet, exercise and single medicines are not enough
- Used to support long-term diabetes management and reduce complication risk
How it works
Each part plays a role: dapagliflozin makes the kidneys flush extra sugar out in the urine, linagliptin helps the pancreas release more insulin at the right time, and metformin cuts the sugar the liver makes while improving the body's response to insulin.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, with food. Swallow the tablet whole — do not crush, chew or break it. Do not self-medicate.
Side effects
- Nausea, stomach pain or loose stools
- Urinary tract infections
- Genital fungal infections
- Know the signs of low blood sugar — dizziness, sweating, shakiness — and treat promptly
Precautions
Avoid alcohol completely — it raises the risk of a rare but serious problem called lactic acidosis. Your doctor may monitor kidney function; this combination is not for severe kidney or liver disease. Consult your doctor before use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Available only with a valid prescription.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from children.
