Duphalac Enema Solution 300ml

Duphalac Enema Solution from Abbott is a Lactulose-based liquid used rectally for rapid relief of severe constipation and in certain liver conditions where ammonia must be cleared from the body.

• Severe or stubborn constipation
• Bowel preparation before procedures
• Hepatic encephalopathy support
• When oral laxatives are not suitable

Lactulose, when placed in the rectum, draws water into the bowel and lowers the local pH. This softens stool and traps ammonia inside the gut so it can be passed out, helping both bowel movement and reducing blood ammonia in liver disease.

Use as prescribed by your doctor or as advised by a nurse. The solution is usually mixed with water before being given rectally. Lie on the side during the procedure and try to retain the fluid as advised.

Not for people with intestinal obstruction or galactose intolerance. Inform the doctor about diabetes, recent bowel surgery, or kidney problems. Discontinue and seek advice if there is rectal bleeding or severe pain.

Store below 25°C, tightly closed and away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Keep out of reach of children.
