Lantus 100 iu vial

Lantus is a long-acting insulin product from Sanofi. It contains insulin glargine, a once-daily basal insulin used to manage blood sugar in diabetes.

• Used in type 1 and type 2 diabetes
• Provides a steady basal insulin level

Insulin glargine slowly releases insulin over about 24 hours, mimicking the body's natural background insulin and helping cells take up glucose from the blood.

Use as prescribed by your doctor, given as a subcutaneous injection at the same time each day. Rotate injection sites and follow your doctor's instructions for technique and monitoring.

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• Injection-site redness or itching
• Weight gain in some users

Monitor blood sugar regularly and learn to recognise low sugar symptoms. Do not mix with other insulins in the same syringe. Inform your doctor about other medicines, kidney or liver problems, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Store unopened vials in a refrigerator at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius; do not freeze. In-use vials may be kept at room temperature as per the leaflet. Keep out of reach of children.
