Novelon

Novelon from Organon is a combined oral contraceptive pill containing Ethinylestradiol and Desogestrel. It is used to prevent pregnancy and also helps with some menstrual concerns.

• Regularising the menstrual cycle
• Reducing painful or heavy periods

The estrogen-progestin combination stops the release of an egg from the ovary, thickens cervical mucus so sperm cannot pass easily, and changes the lining of the uterus. Together these actions prevent pregnancy.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time every day, following the order printed on the pack. If you miss a dose, refer to the pack leaflet or call your doctor.

• Nausea
• Breast tenderness
• Spotting between periods
• Headache or mood change

Tell your doctor about blood clots, smoking, high blood pressure, migraine with aura, liver disease, breast cancer, or pregnancy. Seek urgent help for sudden chest pain, leg swelling, severe headache, or vision change.

Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
