Product information
About
Telma Beta 50 from Glenmark combines Telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker, with the higher strength of Metoprolol Succinate, a beta-blocker. It is used when both blood pressure and heart rate need firmer control.
Uses
- High blood pressure with rapid heart rate
- Angina or palpitations with hypertension
- Heart protection after a heart attack
- Stable chronic heart failure with hypertension
How it works
Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II at vessel receptors so blood vessels relax. Metoprolol blocks beta-receptors on the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing pumping force, which lowers oxygen demand and blood pressure.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or after food, at a fixed time each day. Do not stop suddenly; ask your doctor before changing the dose.
Side effects
- Tiredness
- Cold hands or feet
- Slow heart rate
- Dizziness or light-headedness
Precautions
Avoid in pregnancy, severe asthma, or very slow heart rate. Discuss diabetes, kidney or liver disease with your doctor. Watch for breathlessness or unusual weight gain.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep in the strip, away from sunlight and children.
