About
Isolazine Tablets from Lupin combine Isosorbide Dinitrate, a nitrate, with Hydralazine, a vasodilator. This pairing is prescribed mainly for chronic heart failure to support a struggling heart.
Uses
- Chronic heart failure (as add-on therapy)
- Persistent symptoms despite standard heart failure medicines
- Helps improve exercise capacity and reduce hospital visits
How it works
Isosorbide Dinitrate releases nitric oxide and widens veins, reducing the load on the heart. Hydralazine widens arteries, making it easier for the heart to push blood through the body. Together they ease the heart's workload.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with a glass of water; usually taken several times in a day as advised. Try to take doses at the same times daily.
Side effects
- Headache, dizziness
- Flushing of the face
- Palpitations or fast heartbeat
- Low blood pressure on standing
Precautions
Do not combine with PDE5 inhibitors used for erectile issues. Rise slowly from sitting or lying position. Inform your doctor of any history of lupus or kidney problems.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep tablets in the strip until use. Keep out of reach of children.
