About
Lasix is a well-known prescription tablet from Sanofi containing furosemide, a powerful loop diuretic used to treat fluid retention and high blood pressure.
Uses
- Helps remove excess body fluid (oedema)

How it works
Furosemide acts on a part of the kidney called the loop of Henle, blocking salt reabsorption so more salt and water are passed out as urine, easing swelling and lowering blood pressure.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually in the morning so that night-time urination is less disturbed. Swallow whole with water.
Side effects

- Dizziness on standing up
- Low potassium, sodium or magnesium
Precautions
Tell your doctor about kidney, liver or hearing problems and all other medicines, especially blood pressure tablets. Periodic blood tests may be needed to check salts and kidney function.
Storage
