Istamet D IR 5/50/500 from Sun Pharma combines dapagliflozin, sitagliptin and metformin in one tablet to help manage type 2 diabetes with a lower metformin strength.

Uses

How it works

Dapagliflozin removes extra sugar through the urine, sitagliptin helps release insulin when sugar rises after meals, and metformin reduces sugar made by the liver and improves how cells use insulin.

How to take

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow with water and keep up your daily fluid intake.

Side effects

  • Genital or urinary tract infections
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Low blood sugar with certain other medicines

Precautions
