Valparin 200 from Sanofi is an anti-epileptic tablet containing sodium valproate. It is widely used to manage different types of seizures and is sometimes prescribed for mood-related conditions.

Sodium valproate calms over-active electrical signals in the brain by boosting a calming chemical called GABA. This helps reduce the chance of seizures starting and spreading.

Not recommended in pregnancy due to risk to the baby. Regular blood tests for liver and platelets are usually advised. Do not stop suddenly.
