Medrol from Pfizer contains methylprednisolone, a corticosteroid used to calm strong inflammatory and immune responses in the body. The 16 mg strength is generally chosen for short, structured courses in moderate-to-severe conditions.

• Severe allergic reactions

• Skin, joint or kidney inflammation
• Some blood and cancer-related conditions

Methylprednisolone mimics the action of cortisol made naturally by the body. It dials down the immune system and reduces the release of chemicals that drive swelling, redness and pain, helping inflamed tissues settle.

Take the tablet with food and water exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop suddenly; the dose is usually tapered down over time.

Tell your doctor about diabetes, high blood pressure, infections, glaucoma, ulcers or recent vaccinations before starting. Long-term use needs regular monitoring and you should not stop the medicine on your own.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original blister, away from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
