About
Starpress XL 50 from Lupin contains Metoprolol Succinate in extended-release form. It is a beta-blocker prescribed for blood pressure, certain heart rhythm issues and to protect the heart after a heart attack. The strip carries 15 tablets.
Uses

How it works
Metoprolol blocks beta receptors on the heart, slowing the heart rate and lowering the force of each beat. This reduces the heart's workload and brings blood pressure down. The XL form releases the medicine slowly over 24 hours.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallow whole with water — do not crush or chew. Take at the same time daily. Do not stop suddenly even if you feel fine.

Precautions
Tell your doctor about asthma, very slow pulse, heart block, severe heart failure, diabetes or thyroid problems. Stopping suddenly can worsen heart problems — taper under guidance. Avoid alcohol.
