Tryptomer 25 from Dr. Reddy's is an amitriptyline tablet — a tricyclic medicine used for depression, certain chronic pain conditions, and some sleep issues.

• Manages depression and certain mood-linked sleep problems
• Helps with chronic nerve pain and migraine prevention as advised

Amitriptyline increases the levels of brain chemicals serotonin and noradrenaline. Over weeks of use, this helps lift mood and calms pain pathways that have become over-sensitive.

Swallow with water, as prescribed by your doctor. Often taken at night due to its sedating effect.

• Drowsiness, dry mouth, or constipation
• Weight gain, dizziness on standing
• Blurred vision or urinary hesitancy

Do not stop suddenly. Tell your doctor about heart rhythm problems, glaucoma, prostate enlargement, epilepsy, or use of other antidepressants. Avoid alcohol. Avoid driving until you know how it affects you.
