About
Labebet 100 from Sun Pharma contains Labetalol, a combined alpha and beta blocker. It is prescribed for high blood pressure, including high BP during pregnancy.
Uses
- High blood pressure
- Pregnancy-related high BP
- Angina chest pain in some cases
- Hypertensive emergencies under supervision
How it works
Labetalol blocks both alpha-1 and beta receptors on blood vessels and the heart. This relaxes the blood vessels, slows the heart and lowers the pressure inside the arteries.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow with water, usually with or just after food to lower the chance of dizziness. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Side effects
- Tiredness
- Light-headedness on standing
- Stuffy nose
- Tingling on the scalp
- Mild nausea
Precautions
Tell the doctor about asthma, slow heart rate, heart block, liver disease or diabetes. Stand up slowly from sitting or lying down. Do not stop the tablet on your own as BP can rise sharply.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place away from sunlight. Keep in original strip out of reach of children.
