About
Losar 25 from Torrent Pharmaceuticals contains losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It is used mainly for high blood pressure. Prescription only.
Uses
- High blood pressure
- Heart protection in select patients
- Kidney protection in some people with diabetes
How it works
Losartan blocks angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. With its action blocked, vessels relax and blood pressure drops.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, at the same time daily. Swallow whole with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Side effects
- Dizziness, especially when standing
- Tiredness or headache
- Raised potassium levels
Precautions
Tell your doctor about pregnancy plans, breastfeeding, or kidney and liver disease. Avoid potassium supplements unless advised. Limit alcohol.
