Gluconorm PG 1 15 tab

Gluconorm PG 1 from Lupin is a triple-action diabetes tablet that brings together pioglitazone (a thiazolidinedione), glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) and metformin (a biguanide) in one pill. It is generally prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes whose sugar is not well controlled on simpler combinations.

Pioglitazone makes cells more sensitive to insulin, glimepiride asks the pancreas to release more insulin, and metformin lowers the sugar produced by the liver while helping muscles use glucose better. Together they tackle high sugar from three angles.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a meal. Swallow whole with water without crushing or chewing.

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• Weight gain or mild swelling
• Stomach upset or loose motions
• Headache or tiredness

Share any heart, kidney, liver or bladder issues with your doctor. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this without medical advice. Watch for swelling, breathlessness or unusual weight gain and report them to your doctor.
