Gluconorm PG 2 15 tab

Gluconorm PG 2 from Lupin is a triple-action diabetes tablet combining pioglitazone (a thiazolidinedione), a higher dose of glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) and metformin (a biguanide). It is generally prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes who need a stronger sulfonylurea push along with insulin-sensitisers.

Pioglitazone improves the body's response to insulin, glimepiride asks the pancreas to release more insulin, and metformin lowers the sugar made by the liver while helping muscle cells take in glucose more efficiently.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a meal. Swallow whole with water without breaking the tablet.

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• Weight gain or mild swelling
• Nausea, gas or loose motions
• Headache or tiredness

Tell your doctor about heart, kidney, liver or bladder issues and any history of fluid retention. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult before taking. Keep an eye out for swelling, breathlessness or unusual weight changes.

Store below 25 degrees C in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Keep in the original strip and away from children.
